Story time with Opa

Mom and Dad (a.k.a. Oma and Opa Ufer) came to Ouray and spent 2 days with us. The kids LOVED having them there to play games, read books, and enjoy the wonderful city of Ouray.

Yankee Boy Basin

Twin Falls

Sacked out!

Guess what? More rocks!

Yankee Boy Basin is my favorite spot in Colorado. It is a beautiful mountain meadow with several small streams coming together into a larger stream creating the twin falls. The flowers were perfect! The kids played in the water, hunted for fools gold, and picked a few flowers. Madalyn learned about the Colorado state flower and many others. We needed Oma and Opa to tell her the names of all the mountain wild flowers.

Our jeeping day

Our jeep with only 3 wheels on the ground. Whee!

Sunlight and Wilson

Such a sweet face!

Hudson being a, well, an 8 year old boy. And Madalyn wondering why she has to be his sister.

Watching as we ride up the gondola!

Sledding (well sort of) on plastic sacks.

Harrison loved his first snow!

If you get a muddy hiney, then you gotta wash it off to get a ride home!

Our Colorado Trip, day one and two

Here we are all loaded up adn ready to go. The car trip was not bad. Harrison did not start the trip out well, and threw up after a crying fit. He did much better the next day, and enjoyed the movie and reading books. A little chocolate helps too!

We stopped in Pagosa Springs the afternoon of day 2 so the kids could play in the river. We sat under the bridge nad let them get their feet wet and throw some rocks. The water was sooo cold and yet their were people swimming and floating the river. Not me!!

Harrison LOVED the water!!!!
After we left Pagosa Springs, we headed another hour to Durango for a one night stay.
